Don Shannon - Black Hawk SDC
Don Shannon's 1962 GT Hawk
Model 62VK6
Don's GT Hawk sports the following features AC, PS, PB, reclining buckets, full dash, rebuilt 289 with R1 components, Flightomatic transmission and twin traction rearend.
The car was originally delivered to Oxnard CA in 1962 and soon after moved to Mesa AZ. Originally she was "Blaze Red" but in 1990 was restored and repainted "Ermine White". The Hawk came to Chicago in 1991 and Don purchsed her in 1992. The restorer mistakenly put tri-color door badges and left off numerous chrome pieces, which Don has now corrected. The Hawk is pretty quick, cool in the summer, and a pleasure to drive. (Actually it pretty cool all year.!!)
Don Shannon's 1964 2 Door Daytona Hardtop
Model 64J8
Don's Daytona was one of the last hardtops built, this Canadian built car went to the San Francisco area and was purchased from the original owners estate in 1992. Don then aquired it in 1994 with 34,000 miles in the odometer. Scott Stasny of Deluxe Autowerks in West Chicago painted it "Bordeaux Red" and a Kenwood audio system has been installed. I am told that the Daytona likes the way that she looks with her new chrome wheels!!
